She was only innocent. Like she always was. She cries at every little thing. She’s emotional all the time. You’d think she was on PMS everyday as long as she lives.
“Do I…really hate her so much?”
“I thought you liked her.”
Me too. And the thoughts were so confusing, even if she tried as hard as she could to think, she’d move on only too quickly to another subject.
Fuck this shit.
-------------
“I don’t know what her problem is, I didn’t do anything.”
Alexis said, slamming down her books onto her desk. It gave in and swung back and forth weakly before finally stopping at a crooked angle at her seat.
“Wow…you’re bad luck Alex.”
“Gee thanks.”
She made a face before shoving her books into Chelsea who sat all pretty and ready in her seat.
She’s so hot…surprise, surprise, the hot girl is straight.
“Today you all should be prepared for your finals. You only need number two pencils and an eraser. Please be patient as I pass out your test papers.”
The professor took his time, passing one sheet out at a time to each and every student.
“Crap…by the time we get our exams we’ll have half an hour left to take it.”
Chelsea smirked, Stop smirking, it’s so hot…
“I um…yeah.”
Alexis stuttered before finally getting the right words. Alexis seemed eager to talk to Chelsea right after the exams…that’s all she ever wanted to do. Ever since that crass bitch Brynn threw her aside like she’s just some other woman.
Revenge is only uncontrollable anger…only uncontrollable…anger…
“Hey Chels…remember last summer? When I met you? Oh god that was hilarious!”
Alexis said, her voice muffled as she dug through her closet.
“Yeah…that was so long ago. I can’t believe it’s almost been a year!”
Chelsea yelled back to make sure Alex heard her. She caught the clothes Alex threw at her and folded them neatly into three neat piles.
“You’re such a perfectionist.”
”You’re such a slob, Alex. You should work on your hair too…”
They laughed.
“Yeah well you should work on your…your…”
”Ha! You got nothing!”
Chelsea pointed and bounced up and down on Alex’s bed. You’re right…you’re so perfect. I wonder if you know. I wonder if you are. Damn it…hey! Nice tits…
“What?”
Chelsea asked when Alex stopped in the middle of her room and just stared,
“Nice tits.”
”What?!”
“I uh…nice fits.”
“Oh…what fits?”
Alexis patted her chest gently when she turned around. That’s the last time she let things slip like that.
“The clothes. Too bad I’m throwing them out to get new ones huh? After all, aren’t you the fashion queen?”
Chelsea smiled and cocked her head to one side,
“Oh yeah. You’re lucky to have me!”
I wish. I think I may cry.
“Wait so why’d you bring up last summer?”
Chelsea asked, rearranging the clothes by colors,
“Nothing really. I just kept thinking back how retarded I was!”
They laughed for a good five minutes…just like any normal friends. Yeah…”normal” you could say.
“Just because you couldn’t read my name and said ‘Hi, Chesly! How are you? I’m Alexis!’ doesn’t mean anything…big.”
“Are you calling me illiterate?!”
“No…not at all Alixes…I mean Alexis.”
And they laughed a little while longer. Making Alex look back at what she almost had before. She could only wonder if anything could happen between her and Chelsea. But
Brynn…I don’t know what to feel anymore. I just want…I just want to shout.
-------------
Gently placing her hand on her thigh, she sat upon the queen-sized bed. I wonder if this is right…And
her lips met with those soft, pink lips of an angel. She’s so beautiful.
“Shh…”
She whispered into her ear, Alexis shuddered slightly as the air from her mouth escaped and hit her ear so gently. She finally closed her eyes and gave in.
It’s actually going to happen…
“What’s wrong?”
“What? Nothing’s wrong…”
Alexis whispered back, her eyes still closed,
“You’re crying.”
She said as she leaned forward to kiss Alexis again. She gently pushed Alexis on her back and kicked off
her skirt that was already halfway down.
“Tears of joy.”
Alexis said in between breaths. She took hold of her hips in both hands and pulled her down on top of her.
She’s so beautiful…I don’t ever want to lose this.
-------------
”But I never had it. Don’t you understand? I never got what I wanted and now she blames me for her misery!”
The dark, green-eyed brunette yelled. Holly looked at her, taken aback…
“Hey, all I asked you was what your worst past experience was, okay? You needa chill, babe.”
“Don’t tell me to ‘chill’ when you ask about my past. You don’t know how much it hurts. You just don’t.”
“Well maybe you should explain it to me. Huh? Just maybe? Ever thought of that genius idea?”
“Don’t give me your smart ass talk.”
“Don’t give me your bitchiness. Either you tell me what’s going on or we’re off speaking terms.”
“Nothing’s going on.”
“So you’ve been acting funny for three months and nothing’s going on…”
I wish I could tell you. But then you’d just run off, scared like all the others.
“I never had it.”
Holly stared at her dumbfounded and it’s not because she’s a blue-eyed blonde. She twirled her hair nervously,
“Never had what? Sex?”
“Something like that…”
Holly rolled her eyes and let out a silent snort, or at least a snort like gesture with her body.
“Aw…sweetie just because you’re a virgin doesn’t mean you have to get all uptight about it! Not every twenty-three year old is jumping around and throwing their bodies at men!”
“I know. I’m not throwing myself at men…it’s at…”
”It’s what?”
Sometimes I’m glad she has bad hearing…or maybe she’s just kinda dumb.
“Can you keep a secret?”
“Um yeah…I’m kinda your best friend? You don’t trust me?”
“No, I trust ya, but still…I don’t want you to run away or anything.”
”Run away? I don’t run…I have heels…oh you’re serious…”
Holly quickly looked away from her and giggled nervously.
“Sorry.”
“S’okay. I…I think you’re hot.”
I hope she gets the point…
“Oh really? Everyone does. No I’m just kidding! Only a few tell me…haha!”
She smiled slightly, a bit irritated by Holly’s not so bright self.
“You don’t get it?”
“What? Do you think I’m stupid? Geez, have a little faith in your friends! You want me…and you’re curious! Well? You wanna kiss me, go ahead!”
“I…”
Not now…god! I would but I’m not curious! I know it for a fact.
“Well?”
Holly wiped off her lip-gloss with tissue and smiled at her friend. She situated herself on the bed and leaned forward a little. She sighed and grabbed Holly by the face with both hands,
“I’m not curious. I know.”
Holly sat there for a moment thinking about what she’d just heard. She looked up at her and shrugged, pulling her face away.
“I’m curious. God! You just can’t let me have my dignity, can ya?”
Holly said with a huge sigh.
“I’m sorry?”
“No. I understand. So what’s this about a past lover?”
”I…never had it.”
-------------
“I don’t care.”
“Yes you do.”
“I don’t want the stupid car!”
“How can you not want this Mitsubishi Spyder?”
The man chased after Alexis with keys dangling in one hand. He grabbed her by the arm and tried to be as gentle as he could.
“Look, lady, I’m being paid to send you a car that’s FREE. I’m not being paid to play tag, if I were, I’d be excited but I’m not. So take the freakin’ keys and I’m leaving whether you want this car or not.”
The man began to leave,
“Who’s it from?”
“Who? Well, I really don’t know. Read the card in it perhaps? Sometimes reading helps…”
Reading…ha that brings back memories…Chesly.
“Chelsea.”
“Psh! I didn’t send you a freakin’ car! Haha if I bought a Spyder…I wouldn’t give it to you! I’d keep it!”
Alex pushed Chelsea to the side playfully. I finally have a car…huh…
“Ya know, you have a new car…and you have best friend…and you have a mall around here…”
Chelsea threw her hip gently at Alex’s as she pretended to look at the sky.
”Whatever could you be talking about Chelsea? I must be too stupid to understand, well, I’m gonna head on back inside to my apartment!”
Chelsea glared at her yet amused by this sudden playfulness.
“And what’s with Miss I-want-to-be-serious-all-the-time?”
“I do not! I can be un…serious if I wanted to!”
Chelsea did her little smirk again, Shit. I should’ve kissed her before. Alex turned back around and threw the keys at Chelsea. She had snapped them on to her key chain along with her apartment key and of course, Chelsea’s key. She’s obviously excited about that…
“I will always love you…”
“That’s it? That’s all the card says? Hey, Alex! Let’s go investigate!”
Chelsea had already seated herself in the driver’s seat, she stuck the key into the keyhole and was about to ignite the engine,
“Move over. If we’re investigating, I’m driving my car.”
Chelsea pouted her lip and made her puppy dog eyes at Alex, That lip needs to be attended to…
“Nice try.”
Alex pushed Chelsea over and slammed the silver door shut. She situated herself and looked at Chelsea,
“Put your seatbelt on.”
“I don’t wanna. It makes my feel restricted.”
“Haha! You’re right, it does! Put it on.”

“A car? You sent your ex-girlfriend a car? To win her back?”
“Obviously. No, I sent it so I could have her come and drive me around town for a joyride.”
Holly smiled,
“So what’s this girl’s name?”
“Alex.”
“Are you sure it’s a girl? Are you sure you’re not confused?”
Holly giggled and threw a piece of napkin at Brynn.
“Pretty sure, men don’t have slender bodies. And anyway, she can’t refuse a car.”
“She can’t refuse a car, but she can refuse you!”
Damn it. Slipped my mind.
“Can I meet this ex?”
“Why?”
Brynn unfolded a piece of paper that was a bit beat up and a bit smudged.
“Because…I’m your friend and I wanna meet your ex?”
“All you ever wanna do is make out with guys…and girls when you’re drunk but um…haha why again?”
Holly grabbed the piece of paper from Brynn and grinned her stupid little grin,
“Ooh, a phone number.”
“I might as well call her up…”
“You’re right. Let’s do it now.”
Holly whipped out her cell phone as fast as lightning and dialed, Brynn grabbed it before Holly hit the last number.
“Are you out of your mind? I’m not going to do it in a public restaurant. For all I know, she could start bitchin’ at me and I’ll start yelling and it’ll be hectic.”
“Fine…we’ll do it in the car.”
“Do what? I mean, yeah okay.”
Alex’s cell wasn’t being answered.
-------------
Alex could never stay in a store longer than an hour but when Chelsea’s with her, it’s like Chelsea’s dragging a little puppy along a chain through a park full of squirrels.
“How about this?”
“Yeah right, do I look like I wear mini-skirts?”
Alex looked away, a pair of Nike’s catching her eye immediately.
“Nuh uh.”
Chelsea grabbed Alex by the hood of her hoodie without even looking away from the clothes rack,
“What? I’m just looking!”
“You can look there in the fitting room.”
Chelsea flung the mini skirt and a tight long-sleeved black and white shirt at Alex.
“You’re…kidding.”
Chelsea smiled then stopped talking for a second,
“You’re right. I’ll be in with you in a minute for make-up.”
She can’t make me wear this! Why do I do things for her… Five minutes later Chelsea arrives without even knocking, she simply attempts to open the door and smashes her face in.
“Ow…”
“Ya know, the door’s locked when people change.”
Chelsea mimicked her silently behind the door as she rubbed her nose, Alex let her in after a moment.
“Ya look real hot Alex. You just need hair and make-up.”
…an hour later…
“Why am I all dressed up?”
“You look hot!”
“Thanks?”
Wait…I don’t know how to take this. Am I supposed to kiss her now? Chelsea turned her friend around to face the full sized mirror behind them. Short, and newly styled dark brown hair, a slight pink of eye shadow and a thin line of eyeliner with pink and glossy lipstick can make a plain looking girl so beautiful. Her body was toned, athletic, but covered up by the new feminine clothes.
“You’ve made me…girly.”
“Pretty huh?”
Chelsea said as she finished herself up.
“Uh…”
Alex began reaching for the tissue box but Chelsea slapped her hand down fast,
“No. As uncomfortable as lipstick and eye shadow is, you need to keep them on for super hotness. That’s the way I like it.”
What the hell? I don’t get what she wants from me! Maybe I should just kiss her now… All of the sudden the lights began flashing and then the restroom went black. Chelsea screamed but Alex involuntarily rubbed her back to calm her down. Alex reached around her pockets for a mini flashlight.
“We need to get you a purse.”
“Yeah, hey Chels, black out, not a time to talk about it.”
“Ow…”
She ran into a stall and hit her nose, I know it.
“Oh excuse me. Hey can I borrow your flashlight for a sec?”
A woman’s voice came out of nowhere said, Alex tried to focus it on her face but she was too busy trying to help Chelsea off the floor.
“Um yeah, hold on. Chels! Are you okay? How’s your nose?”
Chelsea laughed and stood up on her heels, nearly falling backwards…again.
“What happened?”
Alex asked, patting Chelsea off for her,
“Hey that was my ass.”
Chelsea giggled,
“I kinda liked it.”
Alex hesitated,
“Heh. Well?”
“Oh…I slipped on stupid water and I fell…after I ran into that stall.”
“You’re so clumsy.”
“You like it.”
Yeah…I do.
“Um yeah I really need to pee, can I please use your flashlight?”
Alex turned around quickly, That voice…Alex was halfway in the stall when she handed the other woman the flashlight so when the other woman rushed in…she rushed into her stall and locked the door quickly.
“Um…I think you locked me in with you.”
Alex said calmly, she could hear Chelsea panicking as she stumbled across the restroom and feeling her way for Alex.
“Chels, I’m in a stall…hold up.”
Then the clanging and clattering stopped, the woman focused the flashlight on Alex’s face and forgot about her urge to relieve herself. Alex quickly started trying to unlock the stall door but her fingers and palms were so sweaty that she just couldn’t get a grip. And
she didn’t try to stop her either. She just waited until Alex finally gave up.
“Alex.”
Alex couldn’t even say anything. Her mouth closed, it felt too dry, and she closed her eyes and wished it were a dream.
“Alex.”
Brynn reached out and touched her face, Alex turned her head and felt Brynn’s hand follow.
Why are you here? Alex thought painfully, It was you and the car and…everything Your bad influences and your habits are my pain and you’re back. Why are you back? For some reason, no one budged. The whole mall was silent even. Brynn reached out with her other hand and pulled Alex in by the waist,
“You can’t just pull away like this. You want it as much as I do.”
But we can’t…not after what you did…You can’t expect me to come back to you when you’ve lost what we almost had all by yourself. Alex wanted to say it out loud so bad but she just couldn’t. It hurt so much. It wasn’t just any small loss…what they had…or almost had was lost immediately and trust was lost. All of it. She couldn’t look at Brynn at all. Alex was so weak now, her body just stopped moving. Brynn pulled her closer and held her tight,
“Please? One more chance.”
Three was enough.
Alex found just enough courage to look up at Brynn, a single tear streaming down her face. She nearly scowled but held herself. After all, isn’t three enough? Lie after lie. Deception. The tears weren’t good enough? Hasn’t Brynn done enough to damage her?
It hurts, Brynn…it hurts. And then she had to find out like that…the third strike.
“We can’t. You just betrayed me and did all those things against my will. And…I love Chelsea.”
A sudden thud was heard after that was said. Then another woman voice called out,
“Hey! Are you okay?”
Then they heard Holly click her way over on heels to kneel down and check on Chelsea. Chelsea sat on the dirty floor, not caring that it was dirty and pounded on the stall door.
“Open up! Alex, we need to talk!”
Brynn couldn’t let go though, Alex struggled a little but she was still so weak from just feeling Brynn’s hands on her.
I…don’t know what I really want.
“One more chance. Please? Think about it?”
Brynn slipped something into one of Alex’s pockets and pulled her in to at least kiss her just once more before they parted again. Alex didn’t fight back either.
It feels so right…just like before. She gave in again to those soft lips that laid upon her own…she couldn’t even stand up straight. Brynn held Alex up and unlocked the door and flung it open. The flashlight still lit but only pointed down, right where Chelsea was. Holly flipped her hair out of her face and looked up at the two.
“You’re right. She’s quite a looker, Brynn. And now you have it.”
“No…she doesn’t have it.”
Chelsea replied, for once, understanding what was going on. She was neither afraid nor was she resisting her thoughts. She finally understood what Alex had been telling her for the past three months. And now she wondered herself. Bisexual? Maybe. Maybe that’s what she was feeling. She knew in her heart it would be worth a shot but now…now what? Now Alex is lip locking with her ex-girlfriend…and where did her hopes go? How is she going to get what she wants? And her thoughts trailed off…She loves me? So this means that I can…but she’s kissing her ex. And confused again, she looked up one last time to see Alex crying and loving, wondering if that was meant to be.
